DELTA is implementing a scholarship program for young breeders for the second consecutive year, providing 15 scholarships for technical management of the livestock unit under the supervision of the American Farm School. The scholarships are given in the framework of the “Gaia Project” implemented by the company aiming at the support and sustainable development of the primary sector and in particular livestock farming, as well as the company’s long-term strategy for supporting and encouraging young people.
During the successful first training program of 2017, 14 young breeders were trained, attending professional seminars at the American Farm School of Thessaloniki providing them with a thorough technical education regarding livestock and best practices.
The scholarship program will take place one more time in 2018, being addressed to the children of DELTA’s partners who are working in the farming sector and are gradually seeking to improve its viability as well as young people who want get involved in livestock farming.
The training organization is the American Farm School of Thessaloniki, an independent, non-profit educational organization with a long history in training farmers and livestock breeders, which ensures the linking between theory and practice.
